Players Katie Watson

Katie Watson is active in Chicago’s theater and literary communities. She’s the author or co-author of the sketch comedy shows Epic Prattle, Blind Side, Gynecology, Consumer Reports: Spring Break Edition!, and she’s especially proud of her adaptation War Is Bad: Sock Puppet Euripides, which was performed in hipster bars around Chicago to inspire discussion about our war in Iraq and raise money for refugees. Katie’s written and performed radio essays on NPR and WBEZ, and live with Second Story, The Dollar Store, Sunday Salon, and WNEP’s Skald. She’s contributed many funny pieces to TimeOut Chicago, and she’s honored to have been an Artist in Residence at the Ragdale Foundation in 2003, 2006, and 2007. Katie’s current projects include writing her first unfunny play (at least the first that’s intentionally so), and training as a director with Second City’s Directing Program. In the other half of her life, Katie is a lawyer who collaborates in civil liberties litigation and loves teaching medical humanities and ethics at Northwestern University medical school.
